Visual content like infographics, image-rich social media posts, and even videos can boost your brand to amazing heights. Just look at Dollar Shave Club’s famous video or MailChimp’s Resource Section if you don’t believe me.

But if you do it wrong, it can be a stain on your brand image and really not worth doing at all.

The infographic by Quicksprout below will give you some tips on how to do it well.

But before we get to the infographic, I want to introduce you to probably the best book I’ve read on the subject. If you really want to master creating effective visual content, you gotta read it!

This amazing book by Scott McCloud deconstructs visual communication down to its core. It’s an amazing read, covering everything from hieroglyphics to the secret power behind communicating with words mixed in with pictures (well, mixed in just right). Every marketer and designer should read this book.

Here’s the infographic! Please enjoy and share :).

    – Bank of America
    – City Bank
    – JP Morgan.
It creates a sense of security and trust

There is so much said about how visuals are important, that I think many underestimate the text message and overuse images and place them everywhere regardless relevant or not.

I think, visuals (the same as text hierarchy and typography) are needed to create entry points and ‘resting’ spaces in wordy articles, to digest text faster and easier.

Even in this infographic, images are visually appealing and create nice styling, but to understand the message I am still drawn to text much more 🙂 (.. which would actually be interesting to eye track on other people too)

Playing around w/ @CrazyEgg and like it so far. Quick, nice and simple. Also easily implementable with #googletagmanager built-in tag.
