How I Chose These ClickFunnels Alternatives

Hereโ€™s what I looked for when I researched the best alternatives to ClickFunnels:ย

  • Deep integration with customer relationship management (CRM) and email marketing tools. A strong ClickFunnels alternative should connect with platforms like HubSpot, Mailchimp, and ActiveCampaign to make sure sales pipelines flow smoothly.
  • Customizable funnel templates. I looked for software that offers more than copy-paste or fill-in-the-blank templates for various funnels.ย
  • Integrated A/B testing and analytics. The best website funnel-building tools offer a way to split-test variations of different steps in the funnelโ€”like landing pages and CTAs. They should have dashboards that make it easy for you to analyze the data the tests gather, too.
  • Scalability for a variety of businesses. Businesses change all the timeโ€”they grow, they downsize, they expand beyond in-house roles. A good ClickFunnels alternative should be able to handle various amounts of traffic, an increase in campaigns, and collaboration across team members without constantly bumping into limits.ย
  • Easy to build high-converting checkout flows. Does the platform make it simple for you to add upsells, downsells, and order bumps without yanking the customer away from the sales funnel? Can customers use multiple payment gatewaysโ€”Stripe, PayPal, Apple Payโ€”to check out?
  • Affiliate program management. I wanted platforms that offer built-in tools for tracking affiliate sales, handling payouts, and setting commission structures to save you from having to use separate software for those steps.ย ย

While not every single ClickFunnels alternative hits each of these requirements exactly, they meet most of them.ย

Letโ€™s dig in.ย

1. Systeme.io

Systeme.io is an all-in-one online business platform that offers a full suite of tools, including funnels, email marketing, affiliate tools, and courses.ย

What I like:ย

  • Built-in email automation. Thereโ€™s no need to integrate a separate email marketing platform or CRM tool. Systeme.io has its own email marketing and automation workflows, so you can set up campaigns and sequences from right within the platform.ย
  • Customizable funnel templates. Along with a robust library of sales, webinar, and lead-gen funnels, Systeme.io includes impressive customizability with a drag-and-drop dashboard. You can add your branding and make other basic changes without touching code.ย
  • A/B testing support. You can split-test funnel steps natively with Systemeโ€™s own A/B testing tools and track conversion rates to see which version works better.ย
  • Solid checkout flow options. Drop order forms, upsells, downsells, and thank you pages exactly where you want them in a funnel to increase average order value.ย
  • Built-in affiliate management. You wonโ€™t need a third-party tool to work with affiliates when you use Systeme.io. Affiliate management is baked into the platform. Create links, set commissions, and track affiliate payouts from right within your Systeme.io dashboard.ย
  • All-in-one solution. Along with the features that make it a top ClickFunnels competitor, Systeme.io also offers a website builder, booking calendar, product dropshipping dashboard, and online course platform. Whether you sell physical or virtual products, this all-in-one platform means you spend less time learning multiple platforms and more time building funnels that convert.ย
  • Affordable and scalable. With a Freemium plan that costs nothing and an unlimited plan that gives you every Systeme.io feature with zero capsโ€”plus two plans in betweenโ€”Systeme.io can easily scale with your business without costing you thousands.
  • Lots of payment integrations. No matter which plan you choose, Systeme.io offers integrations with Stripe, Apple Pay, PayPal, Razorpay, Flutterwave, and more for easy selling.

What could use improving:ย

  • Depth of analytics. While you get funnel conversion tracking and sales reports, the analytics delivered on Systeme.io are pretty basic compared to a dedicated analytics or testing platform.ย
  • A/B testing limitations. You can run split tests on funnel steps, but you canโ€™t easily split-test email headlines, product descriptions, and other key components of your overall sales and marketing strategy.
  • Shallower features. Because it covers literally everythingโ€”from funnels and courses to emails and affiliatesโ€”the features arenโ€™t as deep and specialized as a stand-alone tool for each of those features would be.ย

Best for:ย

  • Systeme.io is best for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and creators who want to manage funnels, email, affiliates, and digital products from one place. Thanks to its affordability, itโ€™s ideal for budget-conscious users. See Systeme.ioโ€™s full pricing details.

2. Kartra

Kartra is a marketing platform with multiple tools under one umbrella, including leadpages, email campaigns, checkout flows, affiliate management, calendars, courses, and analytics.ย

What I like:ย

  • Easy integration with CRMs and email marketing tools. Kartra includes its own email automation tool, Kartra Mail, but it also supports external SMTP gateways like Postmark, Mailgun, and SendGrid. You can use Kartraโ€™s API if you need to make a custom connection to other systems.ย
  • Customizable funnel templates with a large knowledge base to support edits. Like ClickFunnels, Kartra offers a variety of funnel templates that are easy to customize with a drag-and-drop editor. With detailed support documents, editing sections, columns, and individual components of a funnel page is easy, even if youโ€™re not super techy.ย ย
  • Deep A/B testing and analytics. Kartra offers strong split testing and link tracking as part of its entire suite of tools, but particularly for emails and SMS. You can also build funnel simulations to test out what you think a funnel could look like before it actually goes liveโ€”this is a unique feature I havenโ€™t seen on ClickFunnels or other alternatives. Kartra also includes helpdesk, affiliate, subscription, traffic, membership, and email analytics so you can make sure youโ€™re delivering what customers want on literally every front.ย
  • Easy to build checkout flows that convert. With Kartra, itโ€™s easy to build checkout flows with all the usual playersโ€”order bumps, one-click upsells, and downsells. The Kartra Help Center offers extensive documentation for showing you how to build an upsell funnel and configure bumps at the price-point level.ย
  • Full affiliate program management features. Thereโ€™s an entire module dedicated to affiliate management, plus a dashboard for approving partners and tracking commission. Plus, the detailed analytics help you understand whether your affiliate program is doing the type of heavy lifting you need.ย
  • Easy scaling. Kartra offers plans for every business size, and scaling up or down as needed is easy, particularly because thereโ€™s strong customer support. No matter which plan you pick, you get a one-on-one onboarding call to help set things up.

What could use improving:ย

  • Heavy focus on email/SMS marketing, courses, and webinars. This isnโ€™t really a downside if you want to use Kartra to build a course, create webinars, or supercharge an email list. But itโ€™s worth noting that Kartra only offers things like its funnel simulation feature in its Growth planโ€”the third-tier up.ย
  • Fairly narrow payment gateway selection. Officially, you can use Stripe, Authorize.net, and PayPal. This is a slightly narrower roundup of integrations than competitors have.ย ย

Best for:ย

  • Bloggers, course creators, and webinar hosts that want landing pages, email sequences, registration flows, and integrated checkouts (complete with bumps and upsells) in one place.ย

3. Unbounce

Unbounce is a landing page and on-site conversion platform with a drag-and-drop builder, A/B testing with AI-powered Smart Traffic, and popups and sticky bars. Instead of being an all-in-one funnel builder, itโ€™s more of a deeply customizable landing page platform to create strong, highly optimized funnel steps.

What I like:ย

  • Integrations with popular CRMs and email marketing tools. While it isnโ€™t a full-funnel solution like ClickFunnels, Unbounce does natively connect with tools like Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign, plus thousands more via Zapier and Webhooks. If you donโ€™t mind juggling multiple tools, Unbounce fits right into your funnel-creating stack.ย
  • Customizable templates with very detailed editing capabilities. Unbounce offers more than 100 templates optimized for various industries. With a drag-and-drop editor, you donโ€™t need to be able to code to use Unbounceโ€”but it does support HTML, CSS, and JS for full editing control down to the pixel level. This gives Unbounce a notable edge over ClickFunnelsโ€™ more basic editor.ย
  • Sophisticated A/B testing and AI routing. One of my favorite things about Unbounce is its dedication to making split testing work for its users. You can create unlimited split tests with Unbounceโ€™s second-tier plan, and even better, the AI-driven Smart Traffic feature will automatically send web visitors to the more high-performing version. Of all the ClickFunnels alternatives on this list, Unbounce offers the best split testing, hands down.
  • Popups and sticky bars to help round out the funnel building process. While you canโ€™t create complete, start-to-finish funnels in Unbounce, you can create popups and sticky bars in addition to landing pages. Plus, you can offer Stripe Checkout to your landing pages to increase conversions.ย
  • Easy to scale up or down. Every plan comes with a detailed list of features that can scale up easily with the next plan tier. None of Unbounceโ€™s pricing plans are terribly expensive compared to competitors, especially since it blows the rest out of the water as far as A/B testing and page customization go.

What could use improving:ย

  • No built-in affiliate program manager. Unlike ClickFunnels, Systeme.io, and Kartra, Unbounce lacks a way to manage relationships with affiliates. Youโ€™d need a third-party solution to track that information, which could be cumbersome.ย
  • Depth of checkout flow. While you can definitely take payments with a Stripe embed, Unbounce lacks integrations with multiple payment gateways. Thereโ€™s also no built-in upsell/downsell and cart logic features. Again, external tools are necessary if you need these features.ย
  • Not an end-to-end funnel builder. Unbounce is ideal for building high-converting pages and ensuite promos, but multi-step funnel creation isnโ€™t its focus.ย ย

Best for:ย

  • Best for performance marketers, PPC teams, and agencies that need to quickly create, test, and deploy high-converting landing pages.

4. Groove

Groove is a platform that offers funnel building, checkout flows, affiliate management, email marketing, and website building in one place. It offers sixteen (yes, sixteen) apps, including:

  • GroovePagesโ€”landing page, website, and blog builder
  • GrooveFunnelsโ€”funnels, upsell sequences, and checkout flows
  • GrooveSellโ€”product and affiliate management
  • GrooveMailโ€”email marketing

What I like:ย

  • Built-in affiliate program management. With its GrooveSells module, this platform offers an easy way to track referrals, set commissions, run contents, and pay affiliates out in multiple ways. Everythingโ€™s tied together in a tidy dashboard, which is honestly a little surprising given the chaos of Grooveโ€™s marketing materials. (More on that in a sec.)
  • Checkout flows with all the bells and whistles. Along with a primary product checkout, you can add one-click upsells, downsells, and order bumps to boost revenue on each sale.ย
  • Customizable funnels. Use Grooveโ€™s drag-and-drop funnel builder to edit funnel templates to look exactly how you want them. The funnel templates cover a range of use cases, from building recurring income from a SaaS product to launching a book. Honestly, the book launching funnel is something I wish I wouldโ€™ve had when I launched my book back in 2021. Each funnel is pre-built with multiple pages. All you have to do is tweak and go.
  • Email split testing. Want to split test email subject lines, content, and CTAs? GrooveMail offers A/B testing for your email campaigns, which is something Systeme.io doesnโ€™t (yet) offer.ย
  • Integration with multiple payment processors. With Groove, you can collect payments via Stripe, PayPal, Mollie, andโ€ฆGroovePay, which I have personally never used or seen anyone use. Just sayinโ€™. At least it doesnโ€™t only offer this gateway.ย
  • Free forever planโ€ฆsort of. Thereโ€™s apparently a freemium version of Grooveโ€™s core apps, including GroovePages, GrooveFunnels, GrooveSell, GrooveMail, and GrooveAfilliate. This is great! However, I couldnโ€™t find a plan breakdown that tells me where those free limits end. Which leads me straight into the things that could use improving.

What could use improving:

  • Absolutely chaotic landing pages. If you offer landing pages as a feature, I expect your landing pages to be freaking amazing. Easy on the eyes, informative, high-converting, and the like. But if you take a look at this landing page from Groove, youโ€™ll see that itโ€™s anything but. There are multiple, clashing colors. Way too much text. An appalling mixture of fonts and font styles. A promo video weโ€™re told is no longer relevant because we missed the chance to grab that deal but aww, arenโ€™t we so kind to offer you this slightly less amazing, but still valuable, deal instead? Itโ€™s too much. It makes me anxious just looking at it.ย
  • Unclear whether A/B testing is offered for funnels. While thereโ€™s split testing for emails, I couldnโ€™t find an A/B testing feature for funnels or landing pages. This is something ClickFunnels does offer, so Iโ€™d expect a competitor to put it front and center.ย
  • Expensive beyond the freemium plan. The chaotic โ€œlifetime limited offerโ€ landing page offers the only information I could find on plans and pricing. A quick glance shows that Groove costs over $1,000. You get a mishmash of bonuses and features with this price that, frankly, Iโ€™m having a hard time absorbing and understanding. A clear pricing page is a must for any SaaS brand, and weโ€™re missing one here.ย

Best for:ย

  • Groove is best for small to mid-size online businesses, creators, or marketers that want 16 apps in one platform to replace an expensive, existing stack.ย

5. Leadpages

Like Unbounce, Leadpages is a ClickFunnels alternative mainly focused on drag-and-drop landing pages, pop-ups, alert bars, and A/B testingโ€”though without an AI-powered, automatic routing feature like Unbounce has.ย

What I like:ย

  • Easy connections with CRM and email tools. In the same vein as Unbounce, Leadpages makes up for its lack of an end-to-end funnel building solution by offering a large catalog of direct and Zapier/webhook integrations. Detailed documents in the Leadpages Knowledge Base help show users how to make those connections.ย
  • Customizable templates. You can either start from a blank canvas or use a conversion-focused template and edit it to your liking. Leadpages isnโ€™t as easy granular with its customization as Unbounce, but itโ€™s flexible enough for plenty of people. (Like meโ€”someone who feels overwhelmed by limitless customizability.) Itโ€™s also more affordable than Unbounce.ย
  • Built-in A/B testing and analytics. Both the Standard and Pro plans offer unlimited A/B testing and native analytics for views, conversions, rates, and earnings. Thereโ€™s no automatic traffic routing, though. Youโ€™ll have to manually choose and push the page with the best conversions.
  • Easy checkout flows. The Leadpages Checkouts feature uses Stripe to accept payments directly on landing pages and popups. The setup is quick and easy, and thereโ€™s no extra Leadpages fee beyond Stripeโ€™s processing fees.ย

What could use improving:ย

  • No built-in affiliate program management. Leadpages lacks an affiliate management program, which means youโ€™ll have to connect an external app or tool for that function. If you donโ€™t have an affiliate program, this isnโ€™t much of a downside, though.ย
  • Checkout depth. While itโ€™s easy to take payments on landing pages and popups with Leadpages Checkout, you canโ€™t easily add upsells, downsells, or sophisticated cart logic. Plan to use external tools for those.ย

Best for:ย

  • Solo entrepreneurs, small teams, and service-based businesses that need to quickly publish high-converting landing pages, run A/B tests, and capture leads with pop-ups and alerts.ย

Whatโ€™s the Best ClickFunnels Alternative?

The single best ClickFunnels alternative, in my opinion, is Systeme.io. It has everything ClickFunnels has, but with an easier learning curve and lower price tag.

But if you want a ClickFunnels alternative that goes deeper into landing page optimization and split testingโ€”and doesnโ€™t include all-in-one funnel building toolsโ€”Unbounce is the answer.
