  • What does setup and implementation look like for Funnels?

Initial setup requires pasting a single javascript snippet onto your site, CMS, or tag manager. This begins tracking your traffic data in Web Analytics.

After this, you should configure your Conversion Goals in Crazy Egg. Conversions can only be tracked after being set up.

And that’s it! You can then create and edit Funnel reports as needed.

  • How does pricing work for Funnels?

Crazy Egg Funnels is available on the Starter plan and above (for $29 per month).

All plans include unlimited Web Analytics and Conversion Analytics, meaning there are no traffic volume limits on Funnels reporting.

  • What conversion events can Crazy Egg track?

Crazy Egg can track a variety of conversion events, with or without additional code:

    • Button/link clicks
    • Views of specific pages
    • Form submissions
    • Ad conversion pixel events (Google, Meta, TikTok)
    • eCommerce platform events (Shopify, Squarespace, Magento, etc.)
    • Custom event triggers (via a custom snippet in your site or tag manager)
  • Can non-technical users build Funnels reports without help?

Yes! Once Crazy Egg has been installed on your website and your conversion tracking is set up, it’s easy to create new Funnels reports. Just click and drag conversion events, and you’ll start seeing your data — designed to be easy to read and analyze.

  • Is Funnels reporting retroactive when I change conversion steps, or segments?

Yes. All Funnels reporting updates retroactively, including all visitor and conversion data that you’ve tracked historically. When you edit a Funnels report, Crazy Egg can automatically analyze your historical conversion rates going back to the beginning of your conversion data.

  • Does the Funnels report allow re-entry or step re-ordering within the conversion flow?

Funnels analyzes unique conversions: that is, the percentage of all unique visitors who have completed a conversion at any time.

This means that Funnels can track conversions that happen in different sessions. It also means that you can change the order of steps within your conversion analysis.

  • Can I view Heatmaps and Session Recordings for Funnel drop-offs?

Yes! You can filter your Heatmaps and Session Recordings data based on visitors’ conversion status.

In your Heatmaps, go to the “Goals” menu in the top-right. You can then toggle data filters to view activity from visitors who’ve performed a specific conversion (or who have not performed that conversion).

In your Recordings dashboard, click the “Filter” button, then select “Goals” under Activity. You can then toggle filters to view specific Recordings of sessions where a visitor performs a specific conversion (or did not convert).

  • Does Crazy Egg have an API for server-side conversion tracking?

Yes, Crazy Egg has an API for server-side conversion tracking. See this technical support document for more information.
