It helps you access data and information about your website performance, but it doesn&#8217;t explain how to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set and understand your goal for the analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sense of the data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hypothesize how to improve your website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make changes and continuously optimize your website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Below, we break down the four-step process we recommend to help marketers and UX pros run a valuable and actionable website analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h.rtrr54uq41hs\">Website Analysis&nbsp;Checklist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To sum things up, here&#8217;s your 4-step checklist for every website analysis&nbsp;you take on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set your intention and goal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Map out your ideal journey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measure what\u2019s actually happening<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brainstorm causes and solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, just test and iterate until you&#8217;ve dialed in the results you&#8217;re looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h.yn31z7wgisgs\">Step 1: Start by Setting Your Intention or Goal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While we often recommend conducting website analyses regularly, that doesn&#8217;t mean you should be analyzing your website just for the fun of it. The reality is that every web analysis should have a purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe you&#8217;re seeing higher bounce rates than normal across the site, and you want to get to the bottom of it, for instance. Or you may have launched a new landing page that isn&#8217;t converting like you expected, or maybe you&#8217;ve seen your SEO website traffic drop across several key web pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever the catalyst, it&#8217;s important to&nbsp;get a clear&nbsp;understanding of <em>why<\/em>&nbsp;you&#8217;re running an analysis of your website\u2014in part because that underlying intention will determine the lens through which you approach your analysis, as well as the software you&#8217;ll need to get it done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h.e8xeuia1uexs\">Step 2: Map Out Your Ideal Website Journey<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what aspect of your website you&#8217;re looking at, have a baseline or ideal scenario to compare your results to. Now it&#8217;s time to dig deeper into what&#8217;s actually happening on your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the one step most website analysis&nbsp;content talks about.
