It\u2019s the kind of thing you want your audience to say, \u201chey, check this out\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more you promote your linkable assets, the more links you\u2019ll likely earn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 Link Prospecting Methods that Don\u2019t Work Like They Used To<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve been doing SEO for a while, you\u2019ve likely heard of many other link prospecting methods that are more popular than the ones mentioned above.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thing is, the SEO landscape has changed, and a lot of links that used to be effective no longer are. But it is now increasingly more difficult to get editorial teams to agree to one if they don\u2019t know you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI spam has flooded editorial teams with generic, terrible content and even worse pitches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HARO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>HARO stands for Help a Reporter Out. It was a platform where journalists would put callouts for content or industry experts they were seeking in order to publish a specific story. But it no longer exists, it was officially shut down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are other platforms you can check out like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/helpab2bwriter.com\/\">Help a B2B Writer<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/featured.com\/\">Featured<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qwoted.com\/\">Qwoted<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sourcebottle.com\/\">SourceBottle<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s generally a first in, best dressed scenario. Writers and journalists can often receive many responses and will settle for the first one that meets their needs, ignoring the rest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose to use this strategy, make sure you actively stay on top of responding to new requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Link begs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Begging for links via email or social media outreach has always had questionable success rates. Too many link builders treat it like a numbers game, relentlessly spamming people\u2019s inboxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potential website owners have developed an intolerance to thoughtless outreach for link building, which makes it very difficult to get decent results.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paid links<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Buying links works, at least for a while. But they can be extremely dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Google detects that you\u2019re buying links, you could lose all your rankings.
