Welcome to Quick Hits CRO Tips from Crazy Egg!
This is a new video resource series where we share advice, best practices, and strategies for how to boost your conversions, increase your revenue, and turn your visitors into customers — all in 2 minutes or less.
Today we’re talking about visitor recordings — also known as session replays. If you’re not familiar, visitor recordings are videos taken of people navigating through your site in real time.
Recordings bring data from Google Analytics or CRO tools like Heatmaps and Scrollmaps to life. They let you drill down in granular detail to find out why visitors are converting or abandoning your site.
While GA gives you macro trends and Snapshot Reports tell you all about click behavior, visitor recordings fill in the blanks between so you understand what is motivating visitors to behave the way that they do.
The value of visitor recordings is that they let you spot UI glitches, browser bugs, and even issues with the responsiveness of your website across devices.
Plus, they’re great for providing concrete examples to people on your team who haven’t noticed a UX obstacle on your website!
In only 20-30 minutes a week, you can incorporate visitor recordings as a part of your regular CRO routine.
