A word of caution: From my own anecdotal evidence, people find being “followed” around the Internet really creepy. And you have to stop for a moment and think about what that does to your brand image.

If your product or service is in the B2B marketing or sales space, then I wouldn’t worry about this. Most people in our industry understand remarketing and retargeting.

But, if you’re in the B2C space, it might be a good idea to survey your customers that converted from a retargeting campaign and ask how they felt about your ads. Try to detect if your campaign had any negative impact on your brand. The preservation, and more important, the improvement of your brand image is more valuable than one retargeting campaign. Trust me.
