10 Cool Google Tricks To Try When You’re Bored

Bored, eh?

I’ve got the cure for what ails ya’.  Open a new tab and start a Googlin’.

1.  Google  ‘do a barrel roll”

2.  Google ‘zerg rush’

3.  Google ‘the loneliest number’

4.  Google ’tilt’

5.  Type ‘Googleplex headquarters in Mountain View, California’ into Google Street View or just click on this link or just look at the image below.

This is the Google Street view team.

6.  Type the keys ‘up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A’  in Google Reader.  (An homage to the video game Contra)

7.  Type ‘Shift + F12’ in any Google Docs spreadsheet

8.  Google ‘anagram’ – and take note of the “Did you mean” below the query

9.  Play the guitar

10.  Visit the moon

Still bored?  Hmmm… you could always practice becoming the world’s fastest clapper.

    I would have expected to see the Pacman Doodle make the list. Call me old school, but It’s by far my favorite.

    Have a go at this one… Go to Google Maps. Type in the following coordinates: 47.110579 9.227568 press Enter. Go to street view. Go up two and left twice…

    Not to be super nerdy, here, but the “up, up, down down…” code does not work in Ikari Warriors. I believe you’re confusing Ikari Warriors with Konami’s Contra (a much better game); the code is popularly known as “The Konami Code”

      Oh my gosh —- I’m so embarrassed. Thanks for pointing that out. I have changed it. I will take issue on the fact that Contra is a MUCH better game than Ikari Warriors. They were both darn good games. 🙂
